Welcome
The Harvard Business School African–American Alumni Association (HBSAAA) is celebrating its 11th Leadership Summit in Boston, Massachusetts, Friday, October 9 – Sunday, October 11, 2009 at the Seaport Hotel and Seaport World Trade Center Boston. The theme of this year’s Summit is Reassessing Leadership: Innovating & Proceeding with Confidence.
The Summit addresses the recent sea change in the global business landscape. It centers on understanding the impact of this change and on developing innovative approaches to business leadership, development and career enhancement. The Summit agenda builds on HBSAAA’s Business Insights Forum hosted by the White House in May, 2009. That event brought together 150 minority alumni from more than 20 graduate business schools across the U.S. and Europe and provided the opportunity for direct input to the White House on President Obama’s education, healthcare and energy agendas.
Planning for the 11th Leadership Summit is being led by Honorary Chair James I. Cash, Jr., Ph.D., James E. Robison Professor Emeritus, Harvard Business School. The Chairs, Rena F. Clark and Eric M. Turner, are providing the operating leadership along with a volunteer committee from across the nation.
Year after year, the Summit has distinguished itself by providing opportunities to generate actionable, high impact ideas related to the most relevant business issues of the times. The Summits have attracted distinguished business leaders from major corporations and financial institutions, entrepreneurs from emerging enterprises, and key government policy makers. Our goal is to provide a unique opportunity for middle and senior level African–American and Latino executives, academicians and political leaders to address timely and relevant business issues while networking among peers.
