Valerie Brown is a senior research analyst at Bernstein Value Equities, where she covers the media and retail sectors for the US and Global Large Cap Value portfolios. Prior to her current role, she recommended investments in the healthcare and consumer discretionary sectors for the firm’s US Small/Mid Cap Value team. Brown joined AllianceBernstein in 2006 as a short specialist for the firm’s Advanced Value and Global Opportunities funds. Prior to that, she managed corporate acquisitions, divestitures, and licensing transactions in the corporate development group at Bristol-Myers Squibb. She holds a BS in economics with a concentration in finance from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, and was a Rotary Foundation Scholar in the department of economics at the University of Zimbabwe. Brown also holds an MBA, with high distinction, from Harvard Business School and is a CFA charter holder. She is a member of the Economic Club of New York and the New York Society of Securities Analysts.

Valerie is an avid patron of the arts and is a member of the Chairman’s Circle at Jazz at Lincoln Center and the Friends of Education at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
